Today our challenge was to watercolor Wisteria. I don't know about other parts of the country but here they tend to be gnarled, scraggly looking trees - they look more lush early in the spring for the 2 weeks when they bloom, then quickly look half dead the rest of the year . . . . I took some photos on my walk this morning to help me with the twists in the branches and leaf shapes. I've only seen the blooms from afar so these are pretty much fantasy clusters.

Wow! I love that you took a pic! I didn't even google a picture which might have helped me! I love your branch and love the color variations you achieved. I like the realism of how the buds sort of taper off at the bottom!

I love your painting with the different tendrils and branches holding the wisteria blooms. The only one I've seen in real life was on a large arbor, and it was lush with leaves and tendrils. Great idea to take a picture for your reference. It does help with the sketching. Another outstanding painting. TFS

Love the way your clusters come to a point, kind of like not quite opened and your leaves are so pretty. Fabulous card.

These are beautiful! Yes, they are pretty scraggly, unless a lot of time has been spent pruning and training. My neighbor has them hanging in her trees, More of a vine than a tree.
I love how you did the branches and leaves. The Wisteria are beautifully done with great colors!
