Chris is hosting this weekâs Color Challenge and the colors she chose are Real Red, White, and Black. Christmas in July is the dessert option.
This week I made a mini slimline card. It was pretty quick and easy to do. I began by making a 6-1/2â x 3-1/4â white card base. Next, I cut the background panel out of black cardstock. To add some texture and interest to the background, I ran it through an embossing folder with a floral pattern.
I cut the âPoinsettiaâ from Real Red cardstock and the leaves from a neutral green. Poinsettia is in quotes because itâs actually an Anemone flower. The flower has three layers which is a look that I love. White Nuvo Drops were added to the center.of the âPoinsettiaâ and to the two smaller flowers. I finished the card with a sentiment stamped from a vintage wood mounted stamp from Stamping' Up. It was a lucky thrift store find!
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to join in on this week's Color Challenge.

Even for a little mini card this is dramatic. You use texture so beautifully and your white base card lends the perfect amount of white space to accent the "drama". Simply gorgeous!
