While cleaning out paperwork I found a glossy 2 pocket folder that once held info about a local organization. I liked the colors and geometric pattern, so instead of recycling I repurposed the folder into an A7 horizontal card base. I used the glossy "pocket" from inside the folder to stamp the margarita glass image with black stazon ink and colored the image using alcohol markers. I fussy cut the image and then adhered it to a layer of white, thin chipboard that I cut using the dies that coordinated with the image. The coordinating dies come in two pieces, so that it's possible to cut in either edge of the glass image. I used one of the edges to cut the front of the card base to give the card some additional interest (easier to see what I mean in the picture form the back). I attached the chipboard-backed image to the card front with dimensional foam and added sequins to the glass, lime and leaves for some bling and sparkle. I put the die cut sentiment together using 3 different dies. It was die cut from scraps left over from the dark green back of the folder and backed with a layer of white chipboard before being glued to card front.
I love the way it turned out and I'll be looking for more pocket folders to make side-fold horizontal A7 cards (which can't be made from 12x12 card stock without splicing). TFL!
