It's Teapot Tuesday and Polly/peeps321 challenged us to make a summery card. This card will be going to Tymekia, Jacqueline's co-worker, who is dealing with health issues, I hope you join us in cheering her up!
I have always associated geraniums with summer - when one can see these vivid red clusters at their best. My mom used to have several pots of these in our home in the Philippines, and when we migrated to Southern California, I get excited and a bit homesick whenever we see these gorgeous flowers. At first, I thought that they only come in red, but found out later that they come in other colors - pink, orange, white and even purple.
This card was supposed to be a one layer card, but I made a mistake and actually cut through the card stock instead of just embossing it...so I went with it and ended up with 4 layers, LOL. Anyway, I hope you find something good in today!
Thank you, Polly for the challenge!

Gem I love geraniums, too...any color and I have quite a few pots of them on my patio. They are the perfect flower to send some cheer and the quote is a good one for all of us. You made me smile about your comment...darn, you had to make a 4 layer card...hehe...It's lovely.

Beautifully elegant, and oh so summery. I can almost smell the metallic tang of geranium leaves. The hint of shading on them is just perfect. I do like the font you use for your sentiments.

You used one of my favorite quotes and it looks great on this beautiful card. Your red geraniums are so very eye catching and the shading you put on the leaves look very geranium-y. I am trying to imagine this as one layer and I think I'm glad you "went with it". I am sure the other way would be lovely, but the extra dimension adds a little extra something. Beautiful card created from a beautiful reminiscence.
