The town next to me has a Poppy Project over Memorial Day weekend where they cover a giant field in beautiful ceramic poppies. I have been wanting to do a card representing those lovely flowers and the people they represent. This is it and it is just in time for July 4th.
Painted the poppies loosely with watercolor, drew in some details, stamped the scene with stained glass. Did a quick flowing flag background (would almost work for this week's MIX if I hadn't done this Wednesday and posted it on the DRS Designs blog) which I then distressed and stamped with a script background. Finished off with a sentiment and a wooden heart.
Happy July 4th if you live in America and happy weekend if you don't!

Awesome 4th of July card Nancy. I especially love the stained glass and the poppies. We also have poppy displays here for Anzac Day, some crocheted and others in paper or glass. They are so beautiful to see. Enjoy your weekend celebrations. I will write soon. Hugs jx
