This card is for the Alpha challenge I = inlaid die cutting.
This should have been a fairly easy card to make. I'd watched a YouTube video where Catherine Pooler did a beautiful card with a butterfly inlaid into a circle. So I thought I'd give it a go but change it slightly. I also wanted to use a gel print out of my stash for my butterfly.
I die cut the butterfly out of my gel print first and thought I'd have it offset within a circle within my square piece of beautiful metallic paper. The paper shines and has so many colours. It's like a mirror IRL.
Unfortunately I'd misinterpreted the video and after die cutting my butterfly out of the blue CS, I now had two butterflies and one circle, with my gel print one not fitting exactly as it should. I had also lost some of my circle pieces and after searching my table, die and bin for half an hour I decided it would have a unique look with a missing piece lol. I also decided to have a half and half butterfly. One side inlaid with the blue underneath and one side with the gel print butterfly popping up. It's not your usual die cut inlay but that's me lol.
Added washi tape, bling and a chipboard sentiment and done.
TFL. Happy day

The journey of creating this beautiful card is like the metamorphosis into a butterfly with both end results being gorgeous. Love your card, Jayne, and it is always fun to read your description of the process.

You had me laughing because your story sound like my story everytime I try to follow a video or tutorial! LOL. Your card came out beautiful anyway and probably better than if you had followed it exactly...PLUS I has your mark and your style which you know I adore. Wonderful colors and that butterfly is gorgeous! Hugz
