I have been wanting to do the June 15 MMJ coffee painting challenge, finally did a bunch of backgrounds yesterday. Ha, back(grounds)....backgrounds with grounds. I amuse myself.
I made a strong concoction of instant coffee and water and used various methods to get some pattern. I made a bunch so you'll see more. This background and the cup were made by painting the paper with a very watery layer of coffee, then laying twine on the paper and let it dry. It helps to wet the twine too, it stays in place better. Then did a little Zentangle 'flux' on the cup. I wish I had sponged a little brown on the edges of the cup so they'd stand out more. Very quick and simple.

Wow this is super cool! You always amaze me with your creativity in using different techniques! Can't wait to see what else you have to show us using your back "grounds"!

Oh, cool. I like the effect of the twine being laid on your coffee panel. It gives a very organic look, and a bit like a geode. I've never been more adventurous than either a wash background or colouring an image in shades of coffee for s monochrome look.

Lovely card! I like how it is soft but such a beautiful variation in each design. I tried some coffee painting back “grounds” today as well. Did not finish anything yet though.

Fantastic card and fav’d. I love the effect you gained with your coffee and twine and the teacup is a perfect element. I still have this challenge to do but I do have coffee stained papers I made last year in my stash. TFS. Happy day
