Last December, Lori (artzidonistudio) sent me the instructions and labels for this technique that she invented and got published in Rubber Stamp Madness. Very simple. I used the tree ef to emboss the label, placed a hot iron on some parchment paper over the label and it got very dark gray. I should have had a lighter touch. Then I smooshed the twisted citron pad over it. Took a while to dry. I was looking at those small green splotches on the right and thought 'I think those will be lightening bugs.' So I used a bit of gold Stickles randomly. It obviously is getting dark, but you can still see that the trees are green and that's when the lightening bugs come out.
Thanks to Lori for her artistic genius and her generosity. After a bit more practice, this should be a super technique. Kind of magical! You can also do this with a stamp, turned upside down, lay the label upside down and gently put the iron on. Haven't tried that yet.
