Thanks, Toni, for the inspiration to use newsprint on a card. I do not think I have ever done that technique before.
I first adhered my piece of newsprint to some Soft Suede CS and then tore the edges. I then added some sponged color to the torn part and then a bit here and there on the body of the piece. I attached this to my card base and then used my fingernail to roughen and curl the perimeter of the layer. The rest of what I did is pretty obvious.
This card shall be remembered for years to come as I just noticed COVID-19 is in print right at the top of the newsprint!

I really like the torn and sponged edges.

It's particularly fun to read the fine print, isn't it? I mean once you drink in all the fabulousness of this card. I made two yesterday with pieces of newspaper from 1888. The one that I only put on my blog seemed to have a bit of a story about an epidemic of yellow fever. I found that interesting. Anyway, fabulous card and fabulous way to preserve history :0)

LOL, I thought exactly the same as you when I saw Covid in the text. I always like reading what's printed in text and script backgrounds. What beautiful ribbon, perfect with the botanical drawing look of the uncoloured dandelion.
