The only reinkers I have are Distress Oxide, but they made a pretty cool background. I grabbed Dusty Concord and Stormy Sky. Lydia's video was great, but I also needed Dina to remind me to wet the back of my paper so it wouldn't curl. I didn't wet the back of my paper and it curled, so the ink ran off the sides. I kept it pretty simple. My favorite way of letting a background shine is to just add some uncolored flowers.

It shines beautifully here and I kinda like that the ink ran off the edges. Beautiful card. And flowers...wow...LOL. I guess I will have to try this technique. It does make great bgs.

This is terrific Jen with oxide reinkers. Love seeing the different hues come out with the water. You are right about wetting both sides, works great. I have to remember the tip about using an uncolored image when you don't want to cover a super background. Happy you joined us.

Super card and loving the background. Your uncolored flowers really do pop atop the background. This may have been the easiest challenge yet, right?

I like the way the pinkish undertones came out of the Concord when it blended with the more slate blue of your stormy sky. Mine ran off the edges a bit, too, but I like how they feathered and left some interesting apertures. First time in probably more than a year that I forgot to mist the backside - that's always my Step one - guess we were all just excited to start mixing colors today!

Oh I didn't think about wetting the back on my first try too, LOL. After that mess I did remember and it definitely helped. Really glad to see how the Distress Oxide looks done in this technique. Thank you for sharing your experience. Your card came out cool!
I too forgot to wet the back of my paper! Oh, I love this so much! I love that you used a large floral and just left it black and white! The color flow is Simply stunning!
