I accidentally flipped the sketch by putting the foil tape on the wrong side of my ship! This card is for this week's sketch challenge, this week's Alphabet challenge, and the Technique Lover's challenge from a few weeks ago.
I looked at the sketch and saw a ship with a life preserver so I ran with it. My gel print (from my stash, yay, used up stash!) was perfect for water and sky.
I went to Home Depot to acquire foil tape so I could try the TLC. I added it to my piece cut for panel 3 and textured it then painted black acrylic paint over it and rubbed it off followed by gold metallic paint ending with the look you see here.
I heat embossed the sentiment on some window sheets, cut my life preserver adding the red stripes with a Copic marker. I then added baker's twine around it and adhered it to the window sheet. This panel is popped up from the card base.
Fun challenges, thank you! And thank you for looking!

Reminds me of a rusty bucket ship with a life saving ring in case it sinks! Very crafty.

What a creative and clever use of the sketch. I think your ship looks amazing. There's a metal sculpture outside our civic offices based on a Viking longship (because when they were building the offices, they found a Viking site and had to hold off on construction till the archaeologists were finished), and the finish, if not quite the shape, really reminds me of it. Your sea background is gorgeous. Now that you have the foil tape, I'm sure you'll have fun with this again , it's a favourite of mine.

I love this design and your representation of the metal ship. I have lots of cruising friends who are so longing for these kinds of adventures again.
