Today's watercolor challenge is quick and very easy - will walk you through how to paint translucent petals on a flower. No sketching today . . . just really watered down paint and a brush!
I didn't have a plan going into this - it was the first brush stroke that kind of determined the shape of my petals and subsequent fantasy flower - which on completion kind of looks like the underside view of a chrysanthemum, so that's what I'll say it is!

The shapes of your transparent flower are just perfect and I love your long stem and leaves. Beautiful work, Linda. Oh, and such a lovely color.

I knew the gallery would be fantastic with all the original flowers made with this technique. Your painting is striking and so well done. Glad to hear you thought it was easy and fun. Thanks for sharing.

I just love what you did with your petals here, I think that is the thing I do not like the most about the ones I tried was that round one over the first 5 in the center from the tutorial, I made most of mine too round to mix with the oval shaped larger ones in the back so, this one with a side view you did is like an Ah-Ha moment for me.

As always you have the perfect sentiment to pair with your beautiful watercolor. I love the mum shape of your flower, but my favorite is those leaves. Fantastic!
