I don't have central air so the heat is really slowing me down. Took me two days to finish this. Thanks, Sabrina, for revisiting this awesome technique. I need to do this again very soon...bug me, ok????
I knew that many would do gorgeous industrial looking creations so I decided I would do something a bit softer, using alcohol inks. That's why I bought the tape in the first place. I diecut my geometric pieces (all from the same set) three times in heavy cardstock, glued them together and glued them to the watercolor paper, along with some drywall tape. Cut many small pieces of the foil tape and used a ballpoint pen to bring out the lower parts. I also used the pen to add some small circles in various places. I wasn't sure if the black paint or the ai should come first but took a chance and did the black paint first. Used some greens, blues and the Pearl alchemy, dripping on and then used an applicator. It was rather tacky at first but seems to be drying nicely. I didn't want to cover up much of that background so I cut the two insects out of metallic papers, lightly glued them and added the skinny sentiment, which I haven't used in a long time (wood mounted). Decided to add some silver micro beads in various places.

Jean I just clicked on the gallery page and your creation totally knocked my socks off (actually I wasn't wearing any but if I were they'd be gone)....I love this and the AI in those colors are gorgeous! Awesome card! Sorry about no A/C....this heat wave does zap one's ambitions and I can't image it with no A/C....:(

That is just gorgeous, Jean. I like your brighter colour palette, perfect for dragonfly. Amazing dies. And I think the effect of the microbeads is just fantastic.

Extremely interesting background with all the shapes and dimension. Fascinating to explore your fun creation. Funky insects, too. Have a steampunk flavor.
