I hope you'll try it - it's something I do at least once a year ever since Judy introduced it as a TLC eight years ago. And I have a suggested alternative if you don't have foil tape. It's super for masculine cards but doesn't have to be used for those.
Normally I start with the finished card in mind and theme my die-cuts for the background piece around that, but this time I just rummaged through a dish on my desk and pulled assorted pieces out from that. When I'd finished the background, I focussed on the stars and started thinking of quotes. I have seen Oscar Wilde's Lady Windermere's Fan in the theatre, but I don't remember this particular line from it - it's in my consciousness because one of the independent book stores in town is called The Gutter Bookshop. The choice of quote gave me an opportunity to use my Katzel rats . I created a sidewalk from some scored grey card, sponging it with Hickory Smoke. The rat and dustbin were stamped on thin white card with Versafine Black, coloured with Polychromos pencils and fussy-cut. The sentiment was computer-generated using Travelling Typewriter font. Keeping with the stars, I embossed the black background with a Sue Wilson star ef, and rubbed the stars lightly with Craft-T rub-ons - gold and copper in the sky, darker colours on the lower half of the card. I added some Stickles to some of the upper stars. Not normally a fan of the neon quality of "Twinkle" but sometimes it's just what I want.
On my background piece, as well as the black paint I used some Viva Rusty Patina, some Inka and some Craft-T rub-ons. The finished card is 7"x 5", and I edged it with a gold pen for definition.

Wow....this is amazing. Fav’d. I especially love the metal grunge look and the pavement looks fantastic. I’m not a lover of mice or rats but he looks happy enough. TFS. Happy day

I admire how you can pull all those disparate elements together into a cohesive whole Sabrina! Love that sentiment and your little upward focussed rat. Great card!

Oh, Sabrina! This is fantastic! I have everything needed except time, but I'll try to squeeze it in this week somewhere. It probably won't be this awesome, but I will think about it until I can get started.

This is fabulous. I thought of Ratatouille too. Love all your bits and pieces and how it all came together. That metal look is so cool. I just might have to give this a try sometime. In the meantime, I have fav'd so I can come back to it when needed. Really awesome card, Sabrina.
