For today's Watercolor Wednesday we followed a fun video by Paul Clark of how to paint a bumblebee - tight or loose by Of course I'm team loose. But I definitely need at least another year of watercolor practice. I tried to dress up my card with some fancy background editing. Actually, my issue might be more with my drawing skills than my watercolor skills. Because I really like the fuzzy look where the yellow and black blur together. But I don't love the angle of my bee and I think he looks a little mean. This is way better than my other attempt though. I called that first one a "killer bee." It was scary. I should have taken a photo of it before destroying it.
The first thing I noticed about your bee was how wonderfully fuzzy you made his body! I think you did a wonderful job with him! Your flower turned out really well too!

I think your bee looks fabulous, Jen, along with the flower. Good work on the furry part. I want to try the loose style again as mine went to the trash. I would have loved to have seen your killer bee. You make me laugh.

Hello WCW friend & gallery neighbor - I'll freely admit I was laughing by the time I got to the end of your description because as your gallery neighbor I had named my painting Killer Bee . . .
Your bee turned out great and the yellow stripes especially look as soft and fluffy as a mink coat. I like the way he is hovering over that misty purple bloom.

I like Angie noticed how fluffy your bee looks. Great job. You really nailed the loose technique, and your flower is lovely. Another great painting in the gallery. TFS
