I chose the colors for this week's color challenge/with a masculine theme for dessert. I had a woodsy theme in mind for the Father's Day hat card I posted earlier.
Only after I was done did it occur to me that the bigger challenge would be to do a non-masculine card i.e. without dessert. I couldn't help but think that these colors would also work with florals and make them a little less frilly.
Of course we are at the lake this week and I apparently didn't throw an outline floral stamp into my bag. But yesterday I found these pre-stamped and diecut Magnolias in a stash so I thought I should give it a try. This is actually only one image. I decided to use a partial image in the lower left corner and then couldn't bear to throw the leftover piece...
My DH often asks for cards for colleagues and I think this one might work really well for that stash. Feminine but not too. Could even be for some guys...

I think this is a beautiful card for either gender! I always wonder why we think flowers are only for women. All the men I know appreciate them just as much as we do. Not sure how you managed to stamp a perfect sentiment on that lovely textured background, but it looks great.

I almost did this but then I thought come on Karen, you can not do flowers once in a while....so I stretched. Now I'm hankering to go try these colors with a floral -you inspired me back into my flower box!!!

This is beautiful, Chris. The cinnamon magnolias are lovely. I'm glad you didn't throw away the other piece. I might add that I love the textured background and the designer paper!

Oh, how beautiful, Chris! I love your resourcefulness with the image and the whole inspiration for this non-masculine card using this week's colors. And I also love, love, love the way you made to floral images from the single one!
