This is the video we are using: You can paint loose or tight style. I chose tight. I would love to do the loose sometime.
I sketched and watercolored the thistle according to the video. I painted the wings of the bee with a washed out black and yellow and also used a white gel pen on the wings with a fineline pen for the wing detail.
Next, I added a wash of Wisteria and Serpentine Genuine around the thistle. Added the sentiment and finished.

Beautiful, Brenda with the soft flowing background. Like the texture you created on the thistle. The purple framing really makes this pop. Wonderful card.
This is gorgeous! The bee is beautiful and I love the white highlights you added! The background reminds me of the misted watercolor we did recently. Fabulous painting!

Love the perspective you given us today with the semi-aerial view so we're seeing the bee splayed over that thistle. Awesome job adding in all the little "prickles" which do seem to poke out of every part of a thistle . . .flower stem and even leaves . . . . btw - nice veining in the bee's wings.
