Itâs my pleasure to host the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS747) this week & a big congrats to Diane! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the palm trees & birthday theme, but I used different images & dies, left off a layer & skipped the embossing.
For my beachy bday card, I die cut the smaller white panel, then used a large reverse circle mask that left the area w/ the sun open so I could sponge the yellows & orange inks to create my sun. The waves were die cut out of a couple of colors of blue, the palms trees out of brown w/ the fronds from some different scraps of green, then they were pieced together. I hand cut a small island out of the brown to ground the trees then added the 3 seagulls. To add a little texture to the palm fronds, I took a piercing tool & creased the lines on them. I did the same to the trunks of the trees.
Thanks so much for looking. It's on my blog w/ more pics & links: The Write Stuff

What a fun tropical scene you have created. Love the bright colors. The score lines really finish the fronds beautifully. And I adore the seagulls dies and the bit of color you added to them. Gorgeous.

Very cool die cuts, sponging, and designing, Julie. I love the card you cased and your version is sooo pretty too. Those palm trees look like a fabulous oasis and the sun set is beautiful. GREAT case/card. Hugz
