A second card for Jeanne's Liquid Metals MIX challenge. This is Burnt Batik, but as per Julia Andrus' Paper Transformed, after the initial part I brushed gold Perfect Pearls mixed with water over the embossed tapestry background before ironing all the embossing out. The wreath elements were already on my desk - it was a birthday gift and I've been practising the two-step stamping to line up with the dies. The colours were a good match to my background, so I used them, matted the panel on black and added a black die-cut sentiment.
This was a nice discovery because I am not a big fan of white halos around die-cuts, and generally prefer fussy-cutting or masking. The first time I played with this set, I use a mostly white embossed background. Because there's still a good amount of white in the background batik panel, I didn't find it to be a problem for me here, which I will remember because those evergreen sprays are not something even I am going to attempt fussy-cutting.

WOWZA that bg is gorgeous! It's so beautiful! And the leaves, flowers die cuts look so cool on it....one might think it would be too much together but no...it's amazing! Love the close up photo.
