Hello and welcome to this weekâs color challenge!
Barbara is hosting this week and the colors she chose are Blushing Bride, Night of Navy, and Very Vanilla. Metallic for dessert.
This weekâs colors are super pretty and I thought they would work well on a birthday card. Todayâs card was made by die cutting the cake, âbuttercreamâ embellishments, and cake stand. I then arranged the pieces onto a vellum circle. I adhered everything onto a background that I created with a gingham background stamp. The birthday greeting was stamped and heat embossed.
Now, letâs talk about metallic for dessert. I used metallic two ways. First, the cake stand was die cut from a piece of metallic gold paper. I have a huge roll of this paper, given to me years ago by my cousin. I use it from time to time. Itâs very subtle and kinda hard to capture in a photo. The second way I used metallic was with Gold Stickles in the flower centers.
Thank you so much for stopping by!

Marianne, your cake looks delicious enough to eat, I love buttercream icing! Yum... The vellum circle brings in the perfect accent for the cake too! It appears we both had gingham on the brain, lol, of course I love it! Great card!

How do you make your circle and rectangle look like the edge is folded over? It is really pretty! I love your BD cake!

How very yummy, Marianne! That cake looks good enough to eat! Love the gingham, and especially that you used a vellum circle to highlight your main image!
