A big congrats to Aimeslee, the newest Featured Stamper (FS746). She has a lovely gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the layout (for the most part) & the embossed bg, but I used different dies, colors & a different embossing folder.
For my Fatherâs Day card, I started by die cutting all the tool in red & mirror silver then putting them together. The jeans pocket & bg are some really old dp I had & it was a little too gray, so I sponged on some blue ink. For the pocket, I cut it first w/ a stitched square then took an angled border die across the bottom. I used a gold gel pen to create the âthreadâ stitching & added a piece of cardboard under the pocket & tucked the tools inside. The measuring tape is a piece of twill ribbon that I used a red Copic to color. The silver bg was embossed w/ a metal plate folder & I used a dk gray Copic to add some antiquing to it.
Thanks so much for looking. It's on my blog w/ more pics & links: The Write Stuff

This is so great, Julie. I love the tools and all the texture. This is so my husband and my Son-in-law. The details are fabulous and your color changes with your Copics and ink are genius. Love this! Hugz

Julie, This is such a clever and creative card. I can't get over how you used the gold gel pen to make such even stitches. I love the mirror silver paper you used. The tools look so realistic. The riveted background is so perfect for the tools.

I am so enamored of all the things you did on the card. I was initially taken with the bright shininess of tools and the riveted bg -- that mirrored silver paper looks awesome here. But when I read how you created the jeans and pocket I was super impressed. Great crafting and clever designing. Fabulous Father's Day card.
