I wanted to try Dina's Pocket Front Card tutorial from the Inkling yesterday.
I showed this to DH last night and asked him was it too cute for George. With a quizzical look on his face, as if he were surprised I even asked, he said yes.
I was surprised, and said really?
Yes, even more definitely.
But, I said, he wants some sort of card game called Exploding Kittens, so I think this would do.
Puzzlement on DH's face. Then dawning clarity as he realised I was talking about 12-year old George, not 60-something year old Jorge. I'm sure I pronounce them differently, and while he's vague on birthdays I think he should have known that I would normally ask him what he wants for Jorge, not present him with a fait accompli.
I should probably have waited till today to try the tutorial, instead of last night after two busy days in work and suffering from earache. I knew the bricks needed to be in the right alignment, and because I was winging the adjustments to metric using a centring quilting ruler, I wasn't sure what size square of DP I was going to need till I had done my folding. And then it was just easier to cut the woodgrain piece for the lower part of the card, where the direction of the grain didn't matter so much. Peeker Dog was cut from watercolour paper, coloured with Inktense pencils and a little sponging with Antique Linen. I gave him a tail from an Eline's Collectibles dog set. The food dish is from the Tim Holz Crazy Dogs, and the bone tied up with a bow is from the Katzel dog set. Sentiment is an old HA one.

Sabrina this is so cute and perfect for a young boy. I love how you did the wall. Awesome card. I hope that your earache is improving. Take care and sending hugs.

What a great looking dog card for a young boy! If I could take care of more than one dog, I would get another. One is enough for now. Your card is delightful, Sabrina! Your wall is amazing as well....TFS
