I've ended up with two samples for Lisa's great WTUI challenge this week!
I love this acrylic distress technique, it's been a stock favourite in my repertoire for over ten years now. This time I used a slightly coated card for the base - I think someone had included it as protection in a card I received, and I felt that I was able to sand down to white much better.
I used a couple of light blues, then when dry I embossed and sanded, and swiped over with forest moss. It's matted onto some green Bazzill with distressed edges. I added green wildflower stems to match, and a butterfly from my butterfly box (adding wire antennae). Finished it off with a sentiment and half pearls, and used a cream base to give it a softer look.

I first thought you had a white die cut over the blue base but seeing it closer and reading your post I understood better lol, I love the butterfly so much with the antennas, and love the distressed edges too

Beautiful texture and distressing, Sabrina! The butterfly colors pop off the background and makes it look like it could lift off the card...so creative to add the wire antennae!

Just fabulous, Sabrina! I knew your card would be amazing for this challenge! Fabulous technique background. You made me laugh today about the watercolor paper. I had an internal struggle this morning about using it vs. saving it. It was not easy. LOL!

What a gorgeous technique and beautifully executed Sabrina. The addition of the distressed edges and that stunning butterfly really add so much texture and eye candy to your card. Thank you so much for this incredible sample.
