This card is for Lisa's Ways To Use It Challenge. Come and play in the challenge. You can find the challenge Here.
I'm also putting this card in for this week's Teapot Party for Linda and also in Ina's S2S challenge on May flowers.
I love shabby chic cards and am realising that this is probably one of my favourite styles and also MM. I took some TH classes last year and revisited some this week on distressing. This design is similar to a project that TH made...well sort of LOL.
I started by doing the wrinkle-free distress technique using WC cardstock and various TH ink pads. Such an easy technique and gives some great results. I ended up making 3 separate panels and chose this one. Although Linda loves pink I wanted other colours and the yellow reminded me of sunshine.
The CS was still wet and I decided to start tearing/distressing the edges which again gives a cool effect. Added distress ink and stamped script on top. One layer done.
I also love lace and found this in my stash and plonked on my card before adding the back panel. In TH's class his project had tissue paper on to show the colours of the distress ink. I have lots of his tissue paper and chose one with butterflies and music on as I wanted this card for Linda to feel happy, plus I love butterflies. Tore a piece of that and plonked on top of my panel.
The flowers were die cut using various pieces of the distressed cardstocks. Added ribbon, bling and stickles. Stickles...I wouldn't be without it as I think it gives interest and shine.
The sentiment was stamped on a piece of gold CS that I had in my stash that I had painted a few months ago. It's very shiny IRL. The butterflies were a last minute decision and I'm pleased I chose to add them.
I so enjoyed creating this card and particularly as my mojo has been missing for a couple of weeks.
Come and play and have some fun.
TFL. Happy day

You have plonked a very lovely shabby chic card here. I love the lace and the flowers add such a nice form interest, like spider chrysanthemums. Thanks for making such a delightful card for Linda.

Such an awesome look and card for Linda, Jayney. Loved reading your thoughts on Stickles. They look great how you have used them on the diecuts. I think Linda will love all the colors you have on here. Well done, my friend!

That is shabby chic at it's most beautiful. I just love the contrast of the warmer florals with the cool (in both senses) background, and the lace adds a lovely feminine touch. Those wildflower dies are great, aren't they.
