Yesterday, I made my mom's birthday card. I was a little more proactive in making her Mother's Day card. My mom has a lot of hummingbird feeders in her yard. You should see the wars they have all buzzing around the feeders during the summer. This card was inspired by this shirt. It inspired me to go more vibrant and a little less realistic with the colors. The bird is stamped with Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, and Seedless Preserves. The flowers are random mixtures of pink, purple and orange DOX inks. I was also inspired to use a watercolor background. This background was a scrap of paper that I had laying on my desk and I used to soak up the leftover ink from a WCW challenge. I pulled it out of my background drawer and splattered some more ink all over it. This color layering hummingbird was another set of stamps from smilynstef. I love it so much!

Your hummingbird is so pretty in these vibrant colors, I love the flowers and this all pops against your fun splattered background, your mother will love this sentiment!!
I love going less realistic, it's so much more fun! My husband usually says something like, "you know that color isn't right?" haha he is a great fan but a little too literal at times. I love how bright and cheerful this is. It's funny watching the hummingbirds! They are so territorial! I wonder sometimes if they even get to take a drink because they are so busy watching the sky for incoming!
Beautiful! I think I own everything you used, so it might be fun to CASE your card. Love it!
