I chose Jules Verne for my Author and hence the sea card, as he wrote several books and had oceans, and water among some of them--almost did Hot air balloon for Around the World in 80 days but did this card.. Have dark aqua base then piece of glossy cardstock that I did the wax paper resist on it, then after ironing it, sponged blue, yellow pink like sun set scene. Die cut lighthouse, colored put down on base, stamped sea gull in sky, made sun by sponging in circle, embossed the seashells in eb folder, fussy cut each and colored and popped all on and stamped the sentiment

Your card makes me smile, DonnaJeanne! Like the best of a summer day, the smell of salt in the air, the cool ocean breezes, and shells for collecting. You'll be happy to know there is even lighthouse close by. The waxed paper technique was so well done...and those hues, lovely. Thanks for bringing Jules Verne to the party!

Oh, super cool! It's funny, I was just talking about Jules Verne last week with someone who is reading Around the World in Eighty Days. I'm not sure that I have read the full version of that, we had an illustrated book when we were kids but it was probably abridged. I have read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Journey to the Centre of the Earth. And you've given us Susan's optional ocean view, too, which I just love. The wax paper resist background is super.

Beautiful! Love the soft colors and especially that sunset, and the wax paper resist gives it such a cool texture and veining. The sea shells are so pretty, and the lighthouse and sea gulls help bring this Jules Verne-inspired card full circle. Great job!
