We are using recycled materials in honor of Earth Day. The bench and trellis were cut from the top outside sheet on a watercolor tablet. I used "reject" backgrounds for the sentiment die cut, bg, and the leaves. The flowers are from a candy box left over from Easter. I applied DO inks to the bench and trellis and then applied distress glaze to make them shiny.

What a sweetie, but aw, she looks a little sad - or I guess it could be solemn, which is much better. What a great outdoors feel. One slat has broken on our bench, so it's not too comfortable at the moment, LOL. Great recycling, Polly.

I love the colors on this card and the soothing pattern in your bg. It's funny how a bg "rejected" for one project can be the perfect one for another. And I do think it looks great here. Love the sweet scene you created and that is a great sentiment. Words to live by for sure. Great up-cycling. Happy Earth Day.

What a lovely setting you've created for that sweet little girl, Polly! I love the use of the glaze on the bench and trellis and I also love the colors in your "reject background".
I remember the first Earth Day as well. I was a senior in High School and our Biology teacher had us do a planting assignment. It is sad that we humans have done such a poor job of being stewards of our planet...

Love the trellis, flowers and the bench. I almost bought some of these little people, but then I looked at how many were in the bag and decided I would never get them all used up. I do like this little gal sitting on the bench though.

Polly, I love the BG you made for your recycled items and scene. The little girl looks as though she’s contemplating whether she should do something or not lol. Great card. TFS. Happy day
