This Mother's Day Card was made for my MIL who is 94 years old. I was inspired by two different card challenges:
Retro Rubber Challenge Blog #156 ( https://www.retrorubberchallengeblog...6-pastels.html ), which required the use of pastel colors and a stamp that is at least a year old (my wreath circle die is from 2015, so that makes it six years old!).
Since the sketch required a circular element as the focal point, and was a square card, I chose to use the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Circle of Spring" stamp set and it's matching dies. I stamped the wreath using alcohol ink-friendly black ink, then hand colored with Copic markers (colors listed below). I used the two dies to cut the outside and inside of the wreath, then cut two more blank wreaths to glue behind the colored on to add dimension.
The bow was stamped and die cut from SU Melon Mambo cardstock. I colored in the "shadowed" part of the bow with SU Rose Romance markers, then ran the bow through my Big Shot inside the SU "Subtle" embossing folder to give it texture.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set. It is stamped in SU Melon Mambo, then die cut. I felt it was too large to overlap the wreath like the sketch shows, so I used a paper trimmer to cut the top and bottom curves off the die cut.
The SU "Flirty Flamingo" panels was cut to 4-1/2"x4-1/2" then run thru my Big Shot inside the Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" embossing folder. This panel was then glued onto the white card base (4-3/4" x 9-1/2" folded in half).
Finally, the wreath was glued to the card front.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" since the stamps and dies match, making it easy to create the focal point of the card.
The stack of wreaths were glued together, then glu
