I am hosting the Watercolor Wednesday Challenge this week and we are following a tutorial that Janine (Jay_Bee) showed me. I enjoyed this practice so much but you know I have a story to tell!
This won't be a story of how many times I painted a watercolor scene but it is amusing and I hope you think so too! I painted my first scene and it was pretty good. I wasn't happy with everything so yeah, I painted another. The next one was much better. My first two were painted on Canson. For #3 I decided to use my good paper (listed below in the supplies section). I really enjoyed the difference! Emma Lefebvre talked about this in a video that I shared for WCW038, so I won't go into that here. However, you can stop by the challenge and watch Video Part 2 if you are looking for tips on paper and supplies.
During my painting session, I wrestled my cat off my painting desk half a dozen times. Finally, I finished and I placed the paintings in the hallway. When my husband was done with his Zoom class, I showed him the paintings. We had a little discussion about them then we both went in different directions. I went to the computer and a sudden movement caught my eye. Our cat was sitting on the paintings staring at me! This is not a spot my cat ever perches on so she was clearly making a point! She cracks us up. She is a very dainty old lady but still has tons of spunk and for lack of a better word "personality"!
The painting I am featuring is the third painting on a larger size sheet of watercolor paper and framed. I will give this to my husband for his birthday since he really likes it!

I love this too Angela, such beautiful work. I totally get why hubby loves it. As to your darling fur baby - there is something in the air, as my darling feather baby is doing things she has never done before!

Angie, this is just beautiful and I see why hubby loves it. I love the softness of the blue water. What a great idea for hubby's birthday. What is going on with the cats and birds? I saw what Kia said about her bird. Pets sure keep us all entertained, don't they? Thanks for a wonderful challenge.

I Love every little part of this painting, Angie, and I'm so glad you gave it a third try! From those glorious clouds/sky to the very detailed mountains and then the way you blended your reflection and water; it's all Amazing!
One more thing, I love the way you have framed this one too. Great job~

Your husband has fine taste! Though I'm sure the first two rounds of your painting were equally as stunning, this piece would look lovely on anyone's wall - I'm sure your hubby will gleefully find a good place to enjoy his soon-to-be-"scored" birthday gift!!!
Lovely as always, Angela! Thank you for making the world - and the SCS galleries - a more beautiful place!
