Per the how to watercolor video, I spattered tan, Olive and some kind of grayish blue over my card with a bit extra water to kind of blend some of it where I wanted the dragonfly to go. Set aside to dry (which doesn't take long in El Paso with almost non-existent humidity)
I use the No. 4 brush to paint in the body with a black / brown paint mix. Then with the 8 round painted in wings with a misty blue and dropped in a bit of purple while it was still damp. Added some details to the wings and body with the No.4 long round brush and some VERY watered down black paint. I like the more delicate lines I got on the right hand wings - the lines got a bit heavier on the upper 2 - not sure if that's because I had too much paint on the brush or just got heavy handed. At any rate - most recipients won't probably notice so I decided on this painting - ONE & Done . . .. I wanted to pull a bit more of the purple color into my card so framed with orchid cardstock and die cut a sentiment of the same color.

Oh my gosh, this is Adorable, Linda! I love the curled tail and your super pretty colors too! Wonderful splatters and you did well with the orchid framing and sentiment because that color shows up so well on your dragonfly~

I'd sure be One and Done if I did one like this! It's beautiful with the colors and the BG splats. I forgot that step. All the details you added are really nice. I was very tempted to draw in more details on my dragonfly, but didn't in the end.
