This is my entry for the Alphabet Challenge letter U for ugly paper and also the TLC sanded embossing challenge. I will say that this technique helped improve the look of that background.
The pink/green background I created I don't know how long ago and don't remember what I was doing. I think I used distress oxide inks. Anyway, I set it aside and then the letter U of the Alphabet Challenge was to use ugly paper. I pulled out several backgrounds and asked my daughter which she thought was the ugliest and this one won the contest.
I embossed it with the Flower Frenzy ef and then sanded it with an emery board. I decided to add some random script stamping here and there on the background using both Pink Passion and Mint Macaron.
I cut a diagonal strip out, added it to a white card base and heat embossed the sentiment between the two pieces - corner rounding a couple of the corners.
I stamped three different Petite Petals flowers and then punched them out. One of them on the right is added with dimensionals. To complete the card, I added pearls to the flower centers.
I'm still not sure I love that background but I do like it better than before and my girls like it.
Thanks for the challenges and for looking.
