I finally gave up after my 4th attempt at this - I seem to have a real mental block when it comes to painting flowers I've never seen in REAL LIFE . . . . . My first 3 attempts looked more like lilacs or bunches of grapes - lol - and I struggled to get anything resembling a stalk on this one, too!
Oh well, the scent of lavender makes me sneeze so maybe that's the problem. Only 6 % humidity here today so really hard to to keep the paper wet long enough to put in the shadowy bg but as Anita says - I work with what I've got.

My mouth dropped open when I clicked on this! Seriously beautiful painting! You framed it beautifully. This looks like wall art to me! Your background colors are soft and done so well with the flowers in your foreground (mine was a bit of a mess!). Beautifully done!

Oh, I love this and your flowers in the background look fabulous and makes the complete field look so real. Of course, the front ones look perfect to me. Thanks for joining again this week.

Not sure what the other three attempts looked like, but this is masterful with the abstract background and the lavender is very realistic. Like the stems. Very interesting about the humidity and paper staying wet. You really gave this lovely painting a beautiful frame. Always excited to see you join us. TFS

Linda, your fourth attempt is beautiful! I love the framing and the purple card base. Such rich color. I don't really know what a real lavender field would look like, but if it looks like this I'd be happy with it. I see you got a great salt effect on yours and your background colors are gorgeous!
