DH spotted this image and said he'd like a card for a friend who is looking forward to being able to go fishing in a couple of weeks when we are allowed travel more than 5km from our homes.
I stamped on white card and coloured with pencil, adding SN clear glitter pen to the fish, Liquid Pearls on his jacket buttons, and using a gold pen for the buckles on his creel. The background is my own faux wood created by mixing re-inker with PVA glue and painting it onto card, a technique I discovered some years ago when I tried doing faux barnboard without reading the instructions properly, and mixed the re-inker with the glue instead of the white paint. A whole bottle of PVA cracked recently when I went to use it, so I made several sheets of this. This piece was embossed with Pinewood planks, and then swiped with archival ink to highlight the embossing. I added the brads, popped up the fishing sign on foam. I would have liked to add some cheesecloth but DH vetoed it, as I knew he would.

Adorable and so fun. Love those Penny Black critters and this will be perfect for DH's buddy. Love the color you used and the wood elements, especially since I prefer fishing along a wooded stream or mountain lake. Great card.

Wow your faux wood grain BG is so realistic and reminds me of our dining room table. Cute image and I like the embellishments you added. It’s perfect as it is. TFS. Happy day

Your faux wood background caught my eye immediately and I had to read details to find out where you got it. The pup is so cute. Great card - fav for sure.

Wow, you really made this a fabulous guy card. Both the wood bg and the wood for the sentiment turned out great. Such a terrific image. I love that DH has input when you make a card. Creative minds working together.
