For this Tea Party this month we are looking on the browner side of the fence.
For me my "go to place" when the outside world is looking murky and brown - is my Garden. It is a place to potter around in - doing nothing much in particular but taking my time and enjoying nature. Sitting and watching the birds splashing in the bird bath and chattering away and filling it up again after they have finished. To sit in the peace and quiet in the middle of nature makes everything right again.
For this card I made a background using Distress Inks. I used an acrylic block to splosh the colours around. When it was dry I stamped the branches and leaves from Lavinia Stamps. Stamped the Darkroom Door birds, birdbath and bird house. Coloured them with Distress Inks and fussy cut them out and arranged them on the background. I stamped and added the Darkroom Door sentiment to finish off the slimline card.
Hope you also enjoy my Birdy Back Yard.

I love the colors you used on this....those birds are gorgeous! I would love to sit in your backyard and enjoy these. I, too, really like just sitting on my patio and listening to the birds. I can't wait for the hummingbirds to return.

This is a beautiful looking sanctuary and I often forget that in some places this is the norm for gardens . . . I have lived in the high desert for nearly 50 years now (last year the annual rainfall was 2 inches down from the usual 6) so even my desert plants succumbed to to the drought. Your scene is a throwback to my childhood years and Greener days.

Beautiful card, perfect sentiment. My friend's son has a landscaping business and is super busy. With travel restrictions, seems like home and yard renos are where people who can are spending their money. I can hardly wait to work on my little yard sanctuary.
I really love the brightly colored birds in your card, Helen! Like you, I also enjoy watching the birds splashing around in the birdbath (scolding them a little because they're playing around in the water and spilling it when there's a drought!). Our neighbors on both sides have swimming pools and the birds seem to know that chlorinated water is not good for them so they come to our yard. Continuing on with your card, it's autumn in Australia right now, and you captured the spirit of the season with this card - love it all, including the thoughtful sentiment!
