This card began as a creation for this week's Teapotter Tickle-The Browner Side of the Fence. Humans tend to think that others' side of the fence is greener but, as we are always reminded, there are many in this world who experience the browner side of the fence, sometimes quite literally, like in the case of drought or wild fires. This creation features what I'm grateful for and that my 'grass' is quite 'green'.
I used a 'never before opened' die set, a gate fold with trees and leaves. Many of us love flowers; I love trees and leaves more. I tend to purchase leaf and tree products much more than floral products. I am grateful for the colors of the four seasons and that I'm lucky enough to live someplace where I get to experience them all, good and the 'not so good'. I am grateful for all of our art; you inspire me every day and I'm grateful to know you and be influenced by your art. This is also for today's WT-a graduation or celebration card or use GRAD, which is what I did: G for green, my favorite color, 'glimmer' spray and gold splatters; R is for reuse (I reused some scraps of stash for the individual leaves); A is for art; D is for deciduous leaves. I especially love the bright green of the early leaves.
I cut the whole thing out of watercolor paper, sprayed with many colors, including green, brown, yellow and a spray called dragonfly, sort of teal. I cut out some leaves of different colors and media and also watercolored some of the leaves gold. I also put some extra leaves on the inside and stamped some branches, leaves and script. There is room to write on the back of the card. Added a belly band of vellum with the art sentiment, an Aussie stamp of an Eastern Yellow Robin and a larger diecut leaf. I also love birds and feathers and things with wings. I used to dream I could fly.
Lastly, I included this in the ABC14-X is for X-tra. I added extra leaves and I think I might add a few more. I also felt I went the 'X-tra' mile with this card. I had a blast!

That is a fabulous gatefold die, and the way you have sprayed it is amazing, it looks like stone. I like the way the openwork lets us see the inside. I also like the addition of the Australian stamp. Yes, it's certainly nice to be somewhere that has proper seasons, instead of just rainy and dry! I'm enjoying all the fresh bright green leaves here at the moment .

This is amazing! I really liked the sort of marble effect you got with the sprays and the different colored leaves especially the teal ones are great! I love trees, too..our city has been hit badly by the Emerald Ash Boar and we've lost hundreds of ash trees..it makes me so sad. I love how you added that stamp.

A Work of art! The multi colored leaves look beautiful over the gatefold tree, and the belly band with green sentiment, leaf and robin stamp add another layer of interest. Very pretty!
