For Karen's TLC, to take an ugly background and make it pretty by embossing and sanding .
This was an odd background - I think it's Brushos and probably gold Pixie Dust or something else, it has some shimmer in it but was generally a bit murky. And the colours must have really leached into the card, because no matter how far I sanded, I never got to white. But I like it. I trimmed it and edged it with a black Sharpie, and stamped a border on the card base to fill the extra space. The scribble is cut from gold, as is the outline of the bird's wing. The bird is a scrap of gel print, the leaves are cut from what was left of a piece of Serendipity Scraps. One of the falling ones covers where I sanded too vigorously in an attempt to reach white core.
Fun, thank you Karen.

Beautiful! Love the colour tones in the background and that gorgeous bird. Interesting that you never got to white when you sanded. My background was also a piece of brushos but it was on coated cs so I did get some white to come up but not on all of the embossed areas.

Just came across this great transformational card. This is one of my favorite techniques, and the best solution for those "Now what do I do moments." I love all the layers and contrasts and that heart is a perfect touch.
