Hello and welcome once again to another Color Challenge. Jeanne is hosting and she chose Pineapple Punch, Granny Apple Green, and Highland Heather as this weekâs colors with dots for dessert.
I just want to say, âthanks a bunchâ to my beautiful lemon tree. Itâs my inspiration for todayâs card. I planted my tree about four years ago and this is the first year that Iâve gotten lemons from it. It looks like I will be getting more lemons some time in the future because my tree is covered with dozens of little blossoms like the ones seen on my card.
To create my card, I downloaded a digital stamp from AlexSyberia Design and colored it with alcohol markers. I then die cut it using a circle die and adhered it onto two more circle dies to give it some dimension. I finished the edges of the circle with ink. An embossing folder was used to create the âdottedâ background. I highlighted the raised dots by blending ink - darker at the top and gradually lighter at the bottom. A simple sentiment provides the finishing touch.
These were such fun colors to use. I hope you think theyâre fun too!

Such a fresh, lovely card! You colored the lemons beautifully. And how exciting about your lemon tree! We have a few trees and it is so nice to just go out in the yard when you need a lemon.

love this inspired card Marianne- and your background paper is perfect for the dessert option- how wonderful to have your own lemon tree- it's too cold here but we do have several vegetable gardens -and they produce a bountiful harvest late summer

Your bg ombre blending is Beautiful, Marianne! Lovely coloring on your lemon and leaves. We lived in S. CA for a few years and loved getting lemons, avocados, citrus fruits at the roadside stands. They all taste way better than the ones on the East coast~

Marianne, I like your idea of using lemons for your Pineapple Punch, it never even crossed my mind! Love it! Your polka dot background fulfilled the dessert option perfectly too! Beautiful design!

Beautiful card with wonderfully colored lemons and fabulous embossed shaded dots. We have a lemon tree in a pot in our house that spends the warmer months outside on the deck. We got two lemons from it last year for the first time.
