This panel is for the Alpha challenge V = Vibrant/Vivid and also for the Watercolour Wednesday Challenge. Check them out.
I've recently started an art journal, one in which I can try different techniques. When I saw today's Watercolour Challenge I wanted to give it a go in my journal. The paper isn't the best quality but it's good enough for me to try out new techniques.
After painting my circles and letting the paints drip, I stamped the stitched circles using a stamp set I bought 3 years ago and love. It comes with dies too and didn't break the Bank!
I decided to doodle inside the circles with my WC marker pens and doodled strings on the lines so as to give the impression of floating balloons.
As this is my try and test journal I chose a sentiment out of my TH sticker pad and added the words painting and circles. I've recently taken a Dylusions alphabet class and this was my first attempt at writing the alphabet similar to what Dyan Reavley does. I'm pretty pleased with my first attempt.
The month was stamped and the date hand written.
I haven't been trying the Watercolour challenges for a while as I'm not that confident but attempting them in this journal makes it easier for me. It was a fun challenge.
TFL. Happy day

Love your art journal. Your take on the abstract challenge is fun and cheerful. I like the idea of a journal....have a practice one for watercoloring. It's relaxing and fun. Happy you joined us this week.

Joyfully colored balloons is exactly what I saw in your painting. I think this is a super technique to jumpstart your foray into watercolor and was thrilled to see it featured today. Love your freehand lettering - I really thought it was a set of stamps!

So colorful and pretty. I love how you doodled inside and how you let the colors drip and then added the strings. Great work from your class on the sentiments. You created a super journal page and so glad you jumped into the challenge today.

This turned out great..with an abstract design there is no right or wrong. Those stitched circles worked really well and I'm very impressed by your hand done words...they look like something Dyan R would do.

That is so cool to work in an art journal. Love the pretty colors you used and the dots added.
