I loved Jean's (jkanack) challenge this week, but didn't have an ef that I thought would work. And I, like Jean, fell in love with the ef Natasha Foote was using in the video. It arrived in last night's mail, so I get to play along after all.
I have been experimenting with Alcohol Inks lately and today I wanted to see what would happen if I dry embossed. Made the bg with my new favorite AI color combination of blues and green. Spritzed the back of the paper a bit and then dry embossed. I ran it through the machine twice, but I don't think that was really necessary. Swiped the card with ink. I didn't cut the edge of the embossed image because I wanted to keep the AI bg. I mounted it on a thin strip of bright blue cardstock; popped that up on craft foam and adhered to black card base. Added the embossed sentiment. I used the pearl white ep because I didn't want a bright white blaring out at me.
I think my bg is a bit too dark for this technique and it probably would look better with lighter colors. But I do love this dreamy bg so I decided to go ahead with it as is. Also, the embossed image did get lost a bit with all the busyness of the AI bg, so it really needed the ink treatment to show off. I do like the end result and I will probably try this again.
Thanks for looking. Hope your day is filled with your favorite colors and maybe a dream bg or two.

I now own it too...ha! So happy to be of service. Color doesn't matter with this technique, what matters is to use the ef 8n a different way. Stunning background.
