This card was made for Freshly Made Sketches Challenger #476 ( https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot...sketch-by.html ), which was a challenge to make a relative "clean" card that has 3 stripes in the upper left corner.
When I saw the stripes, for some reason my mind saw a rainbow! So I needed arched stripes to create the theme I had in mind. I found an SVG file that had a rainbow, but it was way too tight to create the broader arch I wanted. So I used my Brother Canvas Workspace software to stretch the rainbow out, then overlaid a card-sized rectangle shape to extract just the arch shapes I needed. I then cut the five arches each individually on my ScanNCut in five different colors (with only three being wide to keep the 3-stripe look).
These arches were glued to a 4"x 5-1/4" heavy white cardstock.
The panda is from the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Party Pandas" stamp set. I stamped it onto heavy white cardstock with black ink, then used my ScanNCut once again to scan it in, and cut it out with a 0.04" white margin around it. While I still had the cut file in my machine, I cut two more of the outline shapes out of plain white cardstock to stack under the stamped image to raise it up off the card surface to give the little panda more of a floating feeling. I glued the 2 extra shapes onto the back of the panda, then glued this 3-layer piece to the card front. To keep the panda level/even over the rainbow, I cut the bottommost white outline shape so it only covered the top of the balloon and the bottom half of the panda. This makes for a more pleasing look if there isn't extra thickness over the top of the rainbow arches.
The final step was to stamp the greeting. I chose this "get well" themed sentiment from SU's "Weather Together" stamp set. It can be used for any occasion when you want to cheer up a friend.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "3" out of a possible "5". If you have a die for the rainbow and/or the panda, I'd lower the difficulty to a "2".
