This week's Alpha challenge is ugly papers. Well, I've got it! This makes me shutter. A friend shared with me some paper that she cut into 6x6 pieces. I guess it's a good thing I didn't look at it in front of her! I don't mean to offend anyone, but this is ugly as far as I'm concerned. I think I've had this for over 3 years & have never used it!
I stamped the greeting several times using MISTI to get good coverage, then went over it with a Versa marker & clear embossed. I certainly have mixed feelings here.
Thanks for stopping by.

You did well with your embossed sentiment, Karen. I thought it was a die-cut. Maybe you should give this to your friend who gave you the paper, when the need arises! Problem solved! (snicker, snicker) It has a Southwester flair to it~

I guess the phrase "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" would apply to this DP, Karen. I think it's geometric pattern is striking and it makes a great masculine thank you card. Your bold black "thank you" makes a strong statement as the DP does.

I'm in Sallie's camp...when I saw it on the gallery stroll, it reminded me of a Pendleton plaid pattern from the '40's. And as you both say, beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder! The black is the perfect accouterment. I will have to look for some 'ugly' to me papers...smiles, oHi~o

Well, I guess none of us used any of our prized papers this week on this challenge, but it helped us get rid of something taking up space in our stashes.. I like that you kept it simple and bold!
