The alpha challenge was to use ugly papers. My first thought was if I have papers that I don't like, why would I put them on a card and mess up some perfectly good artwork. So in order to get around that, I decided to alter the ugly papers and that's what I did. I pulled out a piece of paper that was a mass of dark holly leaves just crammed all together. A whole 12"x12" piece of paper. So I got out two colors of acrylic paint and proceeded to completely cover up that piece of paper. Do you see any holly leaves? Now I have some paper that I can actually use. I had a request to make a card for this week's teapot challenge recipient, so that's who this card is for. Hence the dance theme.
This card style was a challenge for Dare to get Dirty back in 2018. It's a fun Z-fold pop up.

Your ugly paper is gorgeous. Love the steaks of color and it looks wonderful with your art work. Great fancy fold card and love your design with all the flowers. Beautiful sentiment. Fabulous card.

Melody, your ugly duckling card is lovely. Sherry's favorite colors, a heart felt sentiment and dancing...your fold card is rich with details! My favorite is the 'altered' dp.

Great fold, I like all the dimension. I agree that it would be very hard to use ugly papers without redeeming them first. There's certainly no sign of holly, just a beautiful card.

I don't see any holly leaves, Melody. Good save, and I thought the same thing as you. Why would I put something on a card I don't like myself. So I used a small amount and sponged it up. Cute z-fold pop-up card! Love the way your flowers turned out~

You certainly made "ugly" work into a gorgeous card. I think the way you drew the colors out in your images and card design really made this a little masterpiece, Melody!
