When I saw the sketch the first thing that came to mind were hot air balloons floating in the sky. So using that as my mental image, I started searching through my stash to find what I could work with,.
The beautiful Stampin' Up! (SU) "Carried Away" designer series paper (DSP) was the perfect background that made it look like you were high above the ground looking down.
For the center rectangular piece I wanted something less busy, so chose a cloud pattern embossing folder that I've had for YEARS, and simply brushed the mint colored ink pad across the inside to make the "sky", leaving white puffy clouds behind.
I stamped hot air balloons in black on yellow and poppy colored cardstock, then die cut them out. Both the "sky" and the balloons were mounted on the card front using foam strips to further give the illusion of floating up above the ground.
The final step was to stampe the sentiment in black onto white cardstock, then punch it out so that it looked kind of like a unfurled flag on both ends.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" since the dies and embossing folder make this easy to come together.
I think it will be perfect for either a birthday or friendship card!
