 | | This is my project for alpha challenge round 14 letter T - technique. My techniques are repeat stamping, gelatos and gesso, and decoupage.
I bought this letter several years ago at a thrift store, but it was pink, and I don't do pink. I finally figured out a way to 'fix' it, by decoupaging torn music paper all over it. But after I did that, I still wasn't thrilled with it. It needed color, so I scribbled just a little gelato on it in blue and turquoise. Then I used a gesso wash to brush over the gelatos, which smooths them out, giving a kind of mottled look, but still allowing the music to show through. That was better, but I still thought it needed more, so I stamped the flower in blue stazon all over and really started to like it. But I had to step it up with the daisies and butterflies, and now I love it.
