What a fun inspiration site today! Although I kept thinking how awful those dresses must be in real life for the prices that they're selling them for. I had fun browsing anyway.
A 50 year old man from my town was killed in a head on crash this week. He was in my sister's class and is the brother of my uncle's girlfriend, so I needed to make a sympathy card. And I was inspired by this dress to make my own stencil using my ScanNCut. I have 24 different butterfly SVGs from an SVG bundle that I had bought from The Hungry JPEG. I opened the ScanNCut software and arranged 12 of the butterflies on the canvas--heavy at the top and light at the bottom. Then after I cut it out I had all the little butterflies to use too. I put my stencil down and sponged all the butterflies, then I shifted and twisted it a little bit and and sponged them again. Then I shifted it to the other side. I glued down three butterflies up at the top and simply stamped a sentiment. I'm really happy with my new stencil.

I love that you made your own stencil, and I am very sorry to read the reason for this card. ( love the soothing colors of these greens too though Jen)
First, my condolences...however, you made a beautiful sympathy card! It seems like there's hundreds of butterflies there, and the stenciling is done so well! Thank you for describing how you did it, I might try to copy what you did in the future.
