Doubling up on the Teapot challenge and the Mix challenge. I made the lantern "shades" by randomly placing scraps and snippets of red homemade and specialty papers onto the sticky side of a mailing label. I used red embossing powder over the whole thing. It only sticks to the open, uncovered areas. Then I stamped, embossed and fussy cut the the lanterns. Each are popped up on craft foam at different heights. Went to my DP scrap pile and chose this BG. Notched the corners on the right side and strung some gold and red nubby fiber as an accent. The inside reads. Hang In There.

Those patchwork lanterns are gorgeous! The embossing between sections actually looks like stitching. Love the bit of funky fiber framing the edge with it's bits of gold peeking through enriching the framing.

Very pretty, it looks like the lanterns in the Asian restaurants.
