Ok, a little late but trying to stick with the challenges as much as I can. I thought that to do this justice I could only paint one larger daffodil, so this is the result. Not my favorite painting but wanted to post it anyway. Watercolor painting is a challenge worth taking. I wish the yellow was livelier, my shadows got a little heavy.
Thanks for looking and hope you will give this a try. If anyone has a tip about getting the wc paper to stop rippling on the edges when you mount it I hope you will share it with me.

Well, I actually like the color of your daffodils. I think they are closer to the artist's design than mine is. She mentioned creamy yellow. I watched the video over and over so this stuck in my head. haha. Anyway, I think your flower looks fabulous! You captured the veins on the trumpet beautifully! So glad you had the chance to create along with us!

I dare to differ with you...your shadows are amazing and gives the daffodil wonderful depth. Like your attitude about watercoloring....it shows with the amazing sketching of the daffodil. You are never late joining a challenge. This is one terrific addition to the gallery. Hope to see you next Wednesday. TFS

Wonderfully done, Kathy - you have really managed to capture the texture on those petals. I feel like if I closed my eyes and reached out to touch your painting that I would feel every subtle ridge that makes up a petal like this IRL.
