Polly has us daydreaming about our favorite places this morning. This card took me a long time, so I dreamed about the beach for two hours this morning. I was inspired by Polly's use of a fun Waffle Flower stamp to use this fun set that reminds me of my family. We spend every weekend at the beach during the summer. But I'm not sure if we're in RI on this card or if we're in Aruba. The joy and the running makes me think Aruba. Plus, it's February. We spent a week in Aruba last February and Desmond keeps asking me when we can go back. So that's Desmond in the front. But I accidentally put his green shorts on hubby, who's close behind. That's me in the orange dress, picking up hubby's shirt. And Raleigh, who always has the best tan out of all of us, running to catch up. Of course, in real life, I would also be carrying hubby's flip flops and Raleigh's surfboard. I had to make a slimline card to fit us all on there. This was a great opportunity to try out my new Hero Arts color layering waves stamps. I'm proud of myself for lining it up so well that you can't see the seams. I had to stamp it three times to span the 8" card. I have 4 x 8 envelopes, so that's what size my slimlines always are. I tore some MFT Natural cardstock to make the sand and sponged a bit of brown around it and stamped Itty Bitty Backgrounds for some texture. Finished with Stickles to make that water sparkle.
And, hey, this fits today's water Free for All Challenge, too, so I'm adding it!

Those waves are very accurate looking....and so inviting! I love that you've got the whole family on the card (good thing for slim lines!)...I'm sure as the mom you would be carrying everyone else's stuff. Super cute and this takes me away to a good place....ahhhh...

Wow, your ocean stamping is very impressive!!! Just love the people (you and your family members) in your scene! This is an outstanding card and it allowed you to enjoy a little mini vacation as you created it!

Oh my. I'd love to be there, whichever it is. You were convalescent last year, weren't you - but what a lovely place for that. Great sea stamp, and I love the sparkle on the water.

Somehow I envision your family's outing to the beach looking very much like this card. Full of fun and glee and joy. It must be because you're wearing orange. What a great, fun scene you created. You really can feel the joy and excitement jumping off the card. Brava on the waves. They look fabulous -- as does the entire card.
Your ocean is magical and your kids make me smile! There is so much energy and joy depicted on your card! This really warms my spirit as I have been checking on TX friends and worrying about them. This reminds me summer will soon be here!
