I'm several days late (as usual) but wanted to make a card for Kristen for the Teapot Challenge. I had an idea in my head for it but didn't like the first result so, I cut it down using the rectangle framelits and went about it in a different way.
First, I stamped the lotus with Versamark so it was hanging off the left side of the paper, then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. This stamp set comes with a dot stamp that somewhat fills in this lotus bloom. I stamped that with Melon Mambo and then added more dots using Copic markers. I also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment. When I was done, I didn't love it so that is when I cut it down using the rectangle framelit. I added a narrow black mat. Then I cut a Melon Mambo frame to put around it, leaving a white gap as well. I was much happier with it this way. I added five clear sequins to complete the card.
This will be on its way to Kristen on Tuesday since Monday is a holiday.
Thanks for looking!

Well, it looks beautiful from here. Love the dots in the lotus image and bg. I really like it hanging off to the side. And the mats with the white space add a great finishing touch. Kristin is sure to adore this lovely card.

How lovely. I like the sort of pointillism effect you and the stamp achieved between you. Although adding all those dots woukd definitely not be a zen experience for me.
