Cathy is our WTUI hostess this week and her " What's Old is New": use the first (or oldest) stamp you ever owned challenge can be found HERE.
The Knitting and Stitching Show first took place in Dublin in 1994, but I'd say I didn't buy this little palette stamp till 2 or 3 years later when we were delivering supplies to a customer who was exhibiting there and I saw a heat embossing demo. I bought this one, a teddy bear and a carnation, the other two have long since been purged but I have always held on to this one. I stamped it on kraft and used Liquid Pearls for the paint squeezed out on it, and a silver pen for the brush ferrules. I bought it purely because it reminded me of the hanging wooden shop sign for stockists of Winsor & Newton, which is a similar palette and paint (no brushes). When I visit the art shop in the city where my sister lives, it's my clue as to which side of the street to walk down.
Gel print background. Stampers Anonymous Just Thoughts image stamped on white and coloured with Polychromos pencils, glossy accents on heart. Spiral punch along the edge.

I love your old stamp!! I love how you've made your painter's palette and love your beautiful background and fun sentiment, (are you sure about 1944 and you bought your stamp just a few years later??)

That little palette is perfect with your sentiment, Sabrina! Love how the texture of the Liquid Pearls makes the paint on the palette look glossy and wet...like they were actually used to paint the rest of your beautiful card!

What a beauty! I love the sentiment! And i love your story of how it came about and I can see why you held on to this one - the background is sensational. Thanks for sharing!
